I'm Famous!

I'm Google-directoried!

Rogue's Gallery of Lego Monsters

We've discussed Goozle before, but here he is with Jack Stone:

"... even bigger than the Barbie movies ..."

This article at DVD Exclusice Awards was mentioned on Mask of Destiny. It hadn't occurred to me before but Bionicle are the natural enemy of GI Joe, a toy I could never get excited about. The closest I ever came to actually liking GI Joe was being able to not hate Small Soldiers completely. And also enjoying the MadTV short where Joe dates Barbie. Compare and contrast Major Matt Mason, a toy I adored and would collect in a nostalgic way now if I collected things for nostalgia's sake. It would be helpful to have a moon crater full of ten dollar bills to finance that nostalgia.

That's My Vehicle, Pontius!

This thread needed an image.

Webcam Is Down Today

I blame the excessive heat caused by global warming resulting from rampant, uncontrolled commercial interests usurping appropriate government oversight contrary to the will of the people and sense. That's why the webcam is down. Write your congressman.

This is not my wonderful life — I don't have that kind of energy

An excerpt from the day of a friend of mine. Names, places changed to protect, extort the innocent, guilty.

I'm meeting Armando downtown for shopping, then I'm going to go to Sprachett's — 124 Elm St. — for happy hour and to review it, then at 6:30 I'm off to pick up Frank's wife, Marilyn, to go to Norwegietown and have a cocktail at Rochambeau's, a new restaurant I have to write up for Monday, before going to bookgroup at Clarise's. Oh, and I have to meet up with a woman named Betty Merry who I met last night at dinner...to treat myself for my last ever Murty's quiz, I went to Ponio's with a $20 gift card Frida gave me and managed to leave my bookgroup book behind —unfinished, of course — but luckily Betty, who was sitting opposite me in the bar and is also a writer who was there to use her $20 gift card, and I exchanged email addresses, so she retrieved it for me and now I'm hoping she'll email me back today and tell me where to meet up with her to reclaim it.

Toa Maiden Test Drives Red Ruru and Bandolier

The Life On Mars figure spontaneously attached itself during a workspace-sweeping.

Reminds me of a renaissance Madonna and Christ Child.

Interesting Trick of the Light

Although it looks like Jack Stone® has been encased in Silly Putty® a la Han Solo® in carbonite® the pic below is actually a Silly Putty® casting of Jack Stone®.

Jack Stone, We Hardly Knew Ye

A Jack Stone figure, utterly innocent, tries to find his place in the Lego pecking order.

Is This a Bad Thing?

The scenario: Dry summer. Dry yard. Extra-dry patch. Patch is strictly rectangular. Patch corresponds exactly to a slab of concrete 18" under the grass! What is it?!

Fort Worden Driftwood Construct

While Whitney and Stuart started the bonfire, I made this perfectly sound arch. It's about four feet tall and withstood me jumping up and down on it. It survived at least one tide intact.

It's tall. It punches. It leans forward a little. It's mostly just tall.

Rahkshi Hijinks

Hey Ralph, lookit me! I'm da Toar of Light!
Will you knock it off! We have to be at the Rahkoon Lodge in five minutes!

Metallic Silly Putty®!

Stretched in a thin sheet over an old-style Matoran, can metallic Silly Putty® be anything other than a stray bit of protodermis?

It's a bit brighter than the silver MoL, but the photo exaggerates the difference.

Gali vs. Bohrok Kaita

I'm not sure where or when this altercation took place. It must be after the Toa discovered the Chamber of the Exo-Armor but before they were immersed in protodermis.

Hans Blix Has Left the Building

"Hans Blix, you've retired as the UN's nuclear inspector. What are you going to do?"
"I am going to pick some blueberries. And also some mushrooms."

The Lamp.

The Lamp.

Immediate Answer to Question Posed

I am of course, being entirley obtuse in regard to where Lego's Bionicle story can go. Hollywood has already supplied the answer:
  • Roman numerals: II, III, IV, etc.
  • The Something: ... the Reckoning, ... the Awakening, ... the Quickening, ... pick a gerund.
  • Apes-style: Planet of, Beneath the, Return to, Escape from, Battle for, Conquest of, etc.
  • Spinoffs: a la All in the Family. Maude, The Jeffersons, Gloria ... I can't stand to think about it any more. Oof.
  • Prequels.
  • Retreads: Director's Cuts. And Special Editions. And Nth Anniversary Editions. Retrospectives, festivals, revivals, road shows and ice shows. Theme park already covered.
