What a load of pseudo-mystical crud! There is no such thing as a fleshling. And I think it's pretty weird that Gali and Lewa are so cheek-by-jowl with Throwbots even if they are of a kind..
This communication with the non-Bionicle is untoward. We will keep our own counsel.
You can't swing a dead Roborider around here without hitting another Throwbot. Don't you think it's time we cleared the decks a little for some breathing room? I mean, how many Flares are there around here? Three? Four? And what's all this talk about a problem monster or whatnot coming down the pike? Bah.
We thank you for bringing us to our friend Amazon. We see no need to grieve over her hurts received in glorious battle. Bring us to our friend Turbo and there may be peace between our peoples.
There is a possibility that I can extract an entire Turbo from the BPoP and the Fusion. That might be the sign that sages have been seeking for untold ages.

Throwbot Amazon

I was able to extract most of an Amazon from the BPoP, but the right torso and arm were unaccounted for. I replaced them with black parts which give the impression of a functional, yet uncosmetic surgical repair. She looks pretty dangerous.

Scuba, Torch and Ski are now represented in their basic, non-Fusion form. The players are almost all in their places. Soon the music can begin.

Amistad and Hot Shots: Part Deux have arrived. Also, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea from FSM.
LEGO parts have arrived: the big pile o' parts, which seems to include an Amazon Throwbot (oooo!) and almost certainly an entire destroyer droid (ahhh!) plus two or three Throwbots of undetermined identity. Actual Throwbot kits have also arrived: Ski, Granite, Scuba and Torch. Granite is redundant but parts is parts. (Turbo remains to be represented in toto.)
I can see the Sea Fair parade from my window at work, but it's pretty dull from 16 stories up in the twilight.

Tron

Tron. The non-existent CD.
UPDATE: That situation has been corrected. There is also a DVD now.

Wyatt Earp and The Chamber arrived today. I'm concerned that Amistad has not arrived from Django's.
So many twigs! So many!

Just ordered:

  • Eiger Sanction

  • Far and Away
Heh. Age. Heh.

I caught the last 15 minutes of Picnic this morning and I'm looking right at that guy, you know, the big star, the one who was married to Stephanie Powers and died prematurely and ... I cannot remember his name!

This racking of stupid, stupid brain goes on for a while (I ID Arthur O'Connell instantly, though!) until the phone rings. I say 'hello' and William Holden's name comes to mind unbidden and luminous.

I'm in the middle of the first listen to Prometheus' Rio Lobo. Jesus, it's hissy! I've been spoiled by the miracles wrought at FSM, I guess. The tracks are in order depending on the tape-source, which might make sense from some point of view, but the musical effect is questionable. The notes, perfectly readable, are movie-centric. Not much discussion of the music.
Thanks, Vince.

If I was any good at all, those little pics would be the result of a time-dependent script that would add and remove them automatically. If I was really really good, the camera would function as its own inventory-taker: recognizing the objects and creating a page reflecting the dynamic contents of the surrounds. The scripts would also create a transparent overlay (or heads-up display) with links, mouse-overs, pop-ups and frozen daiquiri dispensers. Unrecognized objects would either be ignored or disposed of. (Grabber arms or lasers, I can't decide.)
Sorry! Webcam wedged!

This is just brilliant:

"The lava flow, 400 metres across at its widest, has damaged several chairlifts dotted over the volcano, which is also a popular ski resort. Tourism representatives have said the magma is so hot that it is unlikely any snow will settle this winter."

Just received FSM's Between Heaven and Hell and Soldier of Fortune by Hugo Friedhofer. I haven't listened all the way through yet, but it's less Golden Agey than I would have thought. I have to confess that when I was a little kid I thought Hugo Friedhofer was a funny name. Kids are so ignorant.
Quick takes:

Saving Private Ryan - it's affecting and beautiful. But it is a bit dull. Deserves some more listens.

Sleepers- OK, I guess. I'll give it another shot.

Telarc's Music of Jerry Goldsmith - Except for the grandiose version of Room 222, there is nothing here at all. I really do not care for the concert arrangements. I'll probably sell this.

Cabana Boy No More

Don't worry about me, mistress! I have new friends now. I had hoped to tell you some other way, but I've fused with Turbo, Ski and Torch. Ski says I don't have to be your cabana boy anymore.

Sneakers and Jurassic Park III have arrived.
Re-ordered The Chamber (received July 25). Ordered Hot Shots, Part Deux (received July 28). Both from half.com. I think it was JJH on the FSM board who pointed me at half.com. Damn that day.
You amuse me, Gali. I'll sort your parts last.
Although I have spent a little more than I wanted to, I now have the means to provide the Bionicles with a real challenge. Tarakava? Bah! Mana? Bah and bah again! From the depths of a package from Illinois will come a creation so terrible, so ruthless, so, so, so ... really, really mean that even working together with their rivals, the Throwbots and Roboriders, they cannot hope to prevail! Muah ah ha ha ha!

Lego

Oops. I won an ebay auction that I really didn't think I would. Still less than retail or Brickbay. Mostly.
