Shutter Island
Handsome, imaginative production is undermined by tone-deaf script and anemic sense of drama. It would be better off as a special feature on Inception DVD: Missing Middle Act cut for time.

Funny from an old e-mail
The quotes (probably from Wikipedia) crack me up.
further:
I conclude that the Finns are best capable of naming confections and I
wish that they had been on hand when truffles was appropriated for the
confection and ditto ganache, which is even more confusing. Ganache,
meaning jowl, but understood to mean fool in the always wide context
of Frankish insult, is not to be confused with fool, as in the dessert
like a trifle, no, not a truffle! Damn it!
"The cocoa industry is dominated by three chocolate makers, Barry
Callebaut, Cargill and Archer Daniels Midland Company."
further:
"In Finnish, the candies are usually called salmiakki, although this
can also refer to other products containing ammonium chloride. The
terms salmiakkimakeinen (salmiac candy) or salmiakkilakritsi (salmiac
liquorice) are also sometimes used. For pure ammonium chloride, the
term raakasalmiakki (raaka = raw) can be used, if necessary.
It is also often used as a salty treat for various pets like horses
and monkeys."

Social media futzing around
Apparently Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, etc do not really play very well together. I thought it would be swell if my Facebook status updates could be rendered as Blogger posts, but there does not seem to be a way to that.
I created a Twitter account (which I have been resisting as unneeded) and there seems to be a similar one-way situation.
So yes, this post is a test.
