Having already seen
Batman Begins, I know that Christian Bale recovered from the state that he put himself into for this movie. The director made the most of it, turning this pat schizo-thriller into a genuine, no-kidding freak show. The queasy, artificial palette plays like the fluorescent light from
Joe vs. the Volcano, except that it doesn't stop for the entire movie.
